Professor Nate Cira

Hi there. I'm Prof. Nate Cira. I'm an enthusiastic iGEM supporter and help support Cornell's team as the faculty advisor. I also run the Cira Lab at Cornell, where we work on a wide range of science and engineering topics, usually connected to human health. I was an iGEM participant as a student in '09 and '10.

Professor Mridusmita Saikia

Hello everyone, I am Mridu. I am a faculty at the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering. My research interests include molecular biology and genomics. I love being a part of iGem Cornell as it allows me to continue pursuing my research interests as well as connect with my students outside the classroom. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and reading. Recently I traveled to Napoli, Italy and visited the ruins of Pompeii. It was the most engrossing and enriching experience!

Hi! My name is Jaymee, I am a PhD student in the field of Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology with a research focus on protein engineering and synthetic biology. I joined iGEM as a mentor because it's an exciting opportunity to guide and support aspiring scientists. I'm looking forward to helping the Cornell iGEM team this year!

Cameron Meyer

Hi, my name is Cameron and I'm majoring in Biology & Society and Economics. IGEM has given me the opportunity to explore the exciting intersection of business and biology. Outside of iGEM I enjoy playing tennis and mountain biking.

Isaac Chang

Hey! I'm Isaac Chang, an undergraduate in the Class of 2025 studying Nutritional Sciences from Saratoga, California. I joined iGEM for its collaborative and entrepreneurial approach to applying biology to solving real-world problems. On campus, I'm a managing editor for the Cornell Undergraduate Research Journal, a LSC tutor, and a researcher in the Hay Lab. I enjoy playing basketball, trying new cuisines, and crafting kombucha in my free time!

Ishaan Nanal

Hi! I'm Ishaan and I'm studying CS and Business as part of the class of 2026. I joined iGEM because I wanted to learn more about synthetic biology. This is a field full of startups that are innovating and reshaping the landscape of the industry and I want to learn more about the process behind creating a product and bringing it to market. I also enjoy listening to music, rock climbing, skiing, and playing basketball.

Jatin Mukerji

My name is Jatin Mukerji. I'm studying Biological Engineering (BEE) as a part of the class of 2025 and am serving as PD lead for this year's project. Outside of iGEM, I do research for the BEE department and am Vice President at Delta Tau Delta (DTD). In my free time, I enjoy video games, rock climbing, and listening to all kinds of music (Favorite artists: Springsteen, Gaslight Anthem, Zach Bryan)!

Michael Constant

Hey guys, I'm Michael and I'm a chemical engineering major in the class of 2025! I joined iGEM to be part of a fun and social community that creates amazing projects that can help people and I fell in love with the genetic aspect of the team! Other than iGEM, I'm also in the marching band, the DeLisa Lab, the engineering ambassador program, and Alpha Chi Sigma! I also love to do photography and find new music in my free time!

Hi! My name is Rachel and I'm a Hotelie in the class of 2025. I joined iGem because it's such an inclusive, multi-disciplinary environment that welcomes creative thinking. Outside of iGem, I like to read, knit, and write for the Cornell Daily Sun.

Kaitlin Chung

Hi! I'm Kaitlin Chung, and I'm a Biological Sciences major in CAS and the Class of 2026! I joined iGEM to learn more about the real-world impact of synthetic biology and science communication. Outside of iGEM, I'm also involved on campus in The Cornell Daily Sun, a research lab, and as a TA for BIOMG 2800.

Claire Lupien

Hi! I'm Claire and I'm a biological engineering major in the class of 2027. I joined iGEM because of my interest in how synthetic biology can help solve pressing issues in sustainability and healthcare. Outside of iGEM, I'm a part of club tennis and YOURS volunteer group. I love spending time with friends, hiking, trying new foods, and getting coffee (you can often find me at Zeus or Gimme)!

Sophie Shadid

Hi! I'm Sophie and I'm an interdisciplinary studies major in CALS concentrating in pharmacology and chemical biology. I joined iGEM to apply my interests in novel synthetic biology and to meet peers who are also preparing for careers in biotechnology and pharmaceutical development. Outside of iGEM, you can find me doing film photography, working out, and skiing.

Rita Kelly

Hi! My name is Rita, and I am a biomedical engineering major in the class of 2026. I love being a member of iGEM because of the opportunities to learn and build cool things as well as the amazing community! When I'm not taste testing the mysterious chemicals in Ward Lab, you can find me at my job at Mann Library, rehearsing with my a cappella group, locked in my room grinding psets, or waiting in line for coffee at the nearest BRB cafe.

Ryan Tse

Hi everyone, my name is Ryan, and I am a member of the Class of 2027 from Hong Kong! I am currently studying biological engineering, and so I joined iGem in hopes of being able to apply my skills to create products solutions that will actually make a genuine impact on the world!
