Professor Nate Cira

Hi there. I'm Prof. Nate Cira. I'm an enthusiastic iGEM supporter and help support Cornell's team as the faculty advisor. I also run the Cira Lab at Cornell, where we work on a wide range of science and engineering topics, usually connected to human health. I was an iGEM participant as a student in '09 and '10.

Professor Mridusmita Saikia

Hello everyone, I am Mridu. I am a faculty at the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering. My research interests include molecular biology and genomics. I love being a part of iGem Cornell as it allows me to continue pursuing my research interests as well as connect with my students outside the classroom. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and reading. Recently I traveled to Napoli, Italy and visited the ruins of Pompeii. It was the most engrossing and enriching experience!

Hi! My name is Jaymee, I am a PhD student in the field of Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology with a research focus on protein engineering and synthetic biology. I joined iGEM as a mentor because it's an exciting opportunity to guide and support aspiring scientists. I'm looking forward to helping the Cornell iGEM team this year!

Anna Voronova

Hi, I'm Anna Voronova and I'm a chemical engineering major in the class of 2028. As a part of iGEM, I am eager to apply my interest in biomaterial and pharmaceutical areas and am excited to explore other fields it touches upon. I am looking forward to bond with others with shared curiosities on the team and to make a real-world impact through synthetic biology. Outside of iGEM I love exploring new places outdoors, biking, going on walks, cooking experimentally, making crafts, and traveling!

Coco Poopat

Hey! I'm Coco and I'm a Plant Sciences major, class of 2026! I was drawn to iGEM because I think synbio has a huge potential to make positive change in the world. I'm specifically interested in its applications to agriculture and nutrition. Outside of iGEM, I love baking, taking care of my plants, and helping out at Dilmun Hill Student Farm.

What's up everyone! My name is Eujin and I study computer science in the class of 2027. To me, iGEM represents intersection. I love how students from all backgrounds come together to creatively solve real-world problems. Outside of iGEM, I'm probably dancing, singing, reading, and hanging out with my friends.

Hi! My name is Jeff and I am a biological sciences major concentrating in neurobiology! I joined iGEM because I found the projects they led impactful and was eager to contribute to a dedicated and passionate team serving the local and global community. Outside of iGEM, I'm a part of Red Cross, the HeARTbeat at Cornell and I write short stories in my free time. With free time, I like to create frog memes, take walks and eat all the sushi I can find in a 20 mile radius.

Lulu Wang

Hi! I'm Lulu, a chemical engineering major in the class of 2027. I joined iGEM to gain some hands-on engineering experience while also being part of a collaborative community that creates projects with real-life impacts. In my free time, I enjoy watching historical c-dramas, trying out new stationery, and reading anything from contemporary fiction to sci-fi.

Hi, everyone! I'm Madeline, and I am part of the class of 2028. I study biological sciences and philosophy, and I joined iGEM for the hands-on contributions I could make for projects that make meaningful impact! I enjoy video editing for the Cornell Sun and spending time under the sun (I'm from California).

Hi! My name is Michelle and I'm studying Biology & Society in the class of 2027. I joined iGEM because I am interested in utilizing synthetic biology to solve contemporary issue. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy playing the violin, tennis, and going on adventures.

Hi, I'm Natalie! I'm a Biology & Society major in the class of 2027 from Queens, New York. I joined iGEM because modern problems require modern (synbio) solutions. Outside of iGEM, I'm a part of Assorted Aces, Cornell EARS, Community Elderly Partnership, and the Cornell Fanworks Club. In my free time, I like to play card games, ice skate, and perfect my CHIMPS strategy in BTD6.

Ralph Ho

Hey, I'm RJ and I'm a sophomore in CAS! I joined PnP because I found the concept of synthetic biology very intriguing, and as someone who wants to go into the healthcare field, I was eager to contribute to a dedicated and passionate team, serving the greater community. I'm also a part of Red Cross, AED, research, and a couple fraternities. Outside of school, I enjoy messing with cameras, taking photos and making videos :)

Richard Lin

Hi! I'm Richard or you can call me Big Rich! I'm class of 2026 majoring in BME (unfortunately an unc). I joined iGEM because everyone's just so nonchalant and chill and I'm always trying to aura farm. Outside of iGEM, you can find me camping out in Tang, trying being performative somewhere on campus and going on random weekend adventures.
